Matt Update

Matt just called. I should be at community group tonight, but instead I'm at home fighting a migraine, so this will be a short post. First of all, he said to tell everyone hi, and thanks all the prayer & kind words. He's found out that he might not end up with his unit after all. For some reason, they're reassigning some people to different units. His assignment is still up in the air for now. He asked that no one ship him anything until he knows for sure where he will end up. He saw his first herd of camels today. Sure enough, a bedouin was herding them across the shooting range. On the way back from the range, they took a "short cut" and got their Nissan mini-bus stuck in the sand. Fortunately, they were able to get towed out before too long. The temperature was in the 120's today. He's still really pleased about the food. So far, he doesn't have any internet access. He's starting a 24-hour operation at 10 am tomorrow, so he won't be able to call again until Thursday. I'll post another update then.
