June 5th - Survivor: MOPS

On Thursday, June 5th, we had our last MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) meeting.  The theme was Survivor: MOPS.  We split into teams, and had to complete several challenges.  Now, of course these challenges were all somehow related to mothering.  It was so much fun, as long as you didn't mind looking really silly!!

My teammate, and super good friend, Misy

The goal of the first challenge was to identify, by taste alone, several baby foods.  Bring on the blindfolds!  Yum, yum, yum!

Next up was the toilet paper challenge.  If you happen to have a toddler who is potty trained, you've definitely done this challenge at your home.  It goes like this... your toddler is sitting on the potty, trying to do number 2.  He is bored.  What is there to do?  Unroll the entire roll of toilet paper onto the floor.  The challenge?  Trying to get it back on the roll!  I thought I'd be great at this challenge, since I've personally done this one several times at home.  But it's a lot harder to re-roll the toilet paper when it's not on the little roller thingy (I'm drawing a blank here.  What do you call that thing, anyway?  Anyone?)

April, explaining the next challenge:  the "find the matching baby shoes relay race."

I love this picture of Misy.

Ready for the next challenge?  Another marathon.  This time, we had to run down, open a bottle of baby juice, pour it into a baby bottle, and drink it.  Mind you, the bottle had a stage 1 nipple.  (It's a wonder babies don't starve to death trying to drink from these things!!)

Warning: do NOT try this at home.  The women in the following photos are trained professionals!

And finally, the "diaper the baby" challenge.  Easy enough, right?  Just pull down pants, change the diaper, pull pants up.

Um... what happened here?  April needs some additional training, apparently!

We ended the evening with door prizes for everyone!

Thanks to everyone for coming.  We had so much fun!!

Stay tuned for LOTS more posts later today.  We're headed to a playground for the morning.
